Thomas S. Rock, Esquire

A 2003 graduate of the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary, Thomas Rock has extensive experience as a trial lawyer in Virginia. He began trying cases while still in law school at the James City County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office where he prosecuted domestic violence cases. He then went on to work at the Loudoun County Public Defender’s Office where he defended hundreds of indigent clients accused of crimes ranging from simple assault to murder.

Upon leaving the Public Defender’s Office in 2005, Mr. Rock established his law firm in Leesburg, Virginia. From the beginning, his goal has been to develop a firm that meets each of its client’s needs as individuals. In recognizing the unique problems that each of his clients face, Mr. Rock is able to work with them to identify and achieve the necessary solutions to those problems.

Mr. Rock devotes almost his entire practice to criminal and traffic defense. He regularly appears in courts throughout Virginia on behalf of his clients. In his criminal defense practice, he has represented those accused of a wide variety of crimes including: assault, larceny, drug offenses, DUI and DWI, reckless driving, weapons offenses, violent felonies, bad checks, forgery and fraud and murder. Mr. Rock also has extensive experience providing criminal defense
to juveniles.

Mr. Rock is a former President of the Loudoun County Bar Association. In addition, he was a founding member of the Loudoun County Drug Court Program where he worked with representatives from various local agencies and the Loudoun County Circuit Court to help long time addicts overcome their addictions to drugs and alcohol. Mr. Rock also served as a long time member of the Loudoun County chapter of Beat the Odds, an organization that works to provide scholarships to high school students who have overcome adversity in their lives.

Mr. Rock strongly believes that as an attorney he has a duty to improve the legal system and help the lawyers of tomorrow. He currently serves on the Child Dependency Best Practices Committee for the Loudoun County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court where he works with judges, clerks and numerous agencies within Loudoun County to help improve the legal system. In addition he currently serves on the Judicial Qualifications Committee where his role is to interview potential candidates for judicial vacancies in Loudoun County. Mr. Rock is also a certified Guardian ad litem for children.

Mr. Rock also served for 8 years as a mentor in the Loudoun County Leadership in the Law Summer Program and currently serves as a mentor for the Loudoun Valley High School Model Judiciary Program.

Mr. Rock is licensed to practice law in all courts in Virginia.
